ALCARA
LI FUSI
Alcara Li Fusi, province of Messina,
is a small town near the mounts Re and Pizzo del Tauro. It accomodates
a number of interesting secular and religious buildings. The Chiesa
Madre has an eye-catching façade complete with a campanile,
and contains works of art such as a canvas and statue dedicated
to San Nicolò Politi; the Chiesa di San Pantaleone, although
reduced to a poor condition, the ruins of the Castello Turio consisting
of a square tower highly damaged by an earthquake in the 15th century,
also are worth a mention. |
